Tweens always want an amazing birthday party that would be remembered for years. However, this type of party could be very expensive. But not every party for tweens should cost a lot. The following are some inexpensive party theme ideas that can be an amazing experience for every guest.

Pizza Party

The best part about this party is that you don’t have to cook anything. All you need to do is to do is call your kid’s favorite pizza parlor and bring in a couple of soda for everyone to enjoy. You don’t even have to be concerned about decorations since it an informal party. Combine pizza with a good movie or a band and everyone will be talking about it for a long time. This type of party is often ideal for boys but it could also work for girls who love pizza and a great movie.

Make-up Theme Party

Naturally, this party is for girls. This is a budget-friendly theme because the celebrant can just ask her guests to come with their make-up kit. You can complement this with a few videos on make-up or have some posters with models. For the food, a simple finger food would suffice. Moms will also appreciate this party as everyone will enjoy the different make-up kits. The party could end up with a little runway. All you need is a carpet folded in half so that everyone could enjoy the spotlight when they look great.

Karate Party

Everyone could have some fun while learning a few things about karate. As long as there’s a place for everyone to comfortably exercise (like the backyard), it will work nicely. You can save a lot for this party because you just have to spend a few dollars on an instructor. The instructor can teach the basics. You can diversify by asking some self defense lessons. Everyone can have some finger food after the training.

These are some of the ideas that you can consider for a party without having to spend thousands of dollars. Just be creative and think of things that can become a theme for a party that everyone can enjoy.

Slumber parties are often considered an intimate yet fun party for kids and adults. More often than not, these parties happen in a bedroom or in the living room where there is enough space for every visitor. Everyone can simply get comfortable in the floor while telling stories or watching movies until late at night.

But you can make the party a lot more interesting with a few decorations. A few changes in the living room or bedroom can make a big difference for everyone in the party.

Emphasize on Space

While most of the guests who’ll come over for the slumber party are already familiar with the bedroom or living room setting, it’s highly recommended to create some a space for everyone. Push the furniture to the side so that everyone will be sleeping on the floor. Of course, there should be some sleeping bags or cushions for everyone. By creating space, everyone will feel accommodated as no one will be at the back or would have to sleep higher than others.

Throw Pillows

Purchase some throw pillows for the party. Estimate the number of guests and reserve at least two throw pillows each. Don’t spend too much on these items though – look for small but good enough to be squeezed. Throw pillows around the area where everyone settles create a true slumber party atmosphere. It will create a relaxing and restful atmosphere for everyone.

If you don’t have the budget to purchase the required quantity, ask your friends to come over with pillows. You don’t have to spend anything and everyone gets to have a very comfortable pillow of their choice.

Items and Colors for Decorations

You can literally add color to the party by placing some items in the room with the same color. If the party is for girls, collect pink items around the house and place them around the bedroom or living room. For boys, the color blue should improve the settings of the party. Items such as books, vases, pillows and other decorative items with the same color should be more than enough to add some atmosphere to the party.

Here’s a final decorating tip: glow in the dark stickers. Don’t tell the guests about the decoration so that everyone will have something surprising to talk about before sleeping.

A DJ can be a perfect complement for your party – and highly economical compared to hiring a full band. When you’re hiring a DJ, you just need a good space for the equipment and the rest will just follow through. It’s even possible that a negotiated price can be achieved because you’re just dealing with one person.

But just like everything that should be chosen for your party, any DJ would not suffice. You need to be careful about choosing a DJ because he or she could easily ruin the party. Remember that music is practically THE entertainment for the party so anything played would set the mood for the event.

Quality vs. Cost

Unfortunately, finding a good DJ on a budget can be challenging. You may find a good one that might agree to your budget if you have time to shop for rates but it’s too much effort for just one aspect of the party. If you don’t have the time then you could consider spending a little bit more for a good DJ. Here’s an even faster method to find a good DJ if you have the money: look for a talent agency. More often than not, they have a pool of musicians that would be perfect for your requirements.

Talking to the DJ

There is a possibility that a popular DJ in your area may not be good for your party. For example, a DJ is an expert in mixing techno-beats but you just wanted to have some popular pop tunes mixed for your party. He or she might create good music but it’s not according to your (or your guests) preferences.

To have a smarter decision with the right DJ, ask for a playlist. They will be more than happy to show you their collection. If you have a DJ that has your preferences for music, you could even ask for some customized playlist to get the party that you really wanted.

Equipment, Equipment, Equipment

A DJ, like a band, can only perform well if their equipments work. After agreeing with the DJ, ask him or her to give you a list of the things they will need and bring to the party. There might be some cable or power outlets needed to plug-in some of their gadgets. Also make sure the transportation agreement so that you can prepare in case you’ll be required to transport the DJ.

Remember these things and you’ll have a great DJ for the party. A great entertainment will improve your chances in hosting a memorable party.
